Texas Tech junior Kennedy Kithuka has been named the MileSplit U National Performer of the Week.
Kithuka, a Kenya native and transfer from Wayland Baptist, captured his first victory of the season, winning the 8K race at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open, in a nation-leading time of 23 minutes, 38.44 seconds.
Kithuka was the NAIA National Champion in both the 10,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs.
Fellow teammate, Ezekiel Kissorio was second behind Kithuka in 24:57.91.
